Can I publish my solutions online?

Modified on Wed, 23 Sep, 2020 at 10:03 AM

You own the rights to your own code, and we can not (legally) prevent you from publishing them in any form you want. However, we respectfully ask you not to publish the solutions to problems on Kattis on the Internet. If you do, it is very likely that other users will copy your solutions and submit them to Kattis under their own names. This causes issues for our scoring and difficulty calculations.

To avoid the issues, Kattis runs an automated plagiarism detection in the background. If Kattis finds plagiarism (e.g. the submission of similar or identical solutions as those submitted by another user) your account will be automatically removed from the scoring and ranklist systems.

We certainly understand that you want to demonstrate your ability, and we are looking at ways to showcase your ability to solve problems on Kattis. As a matter of fact we have a few things in the pipe, which should show up sometime in the future. Keep an eye out for them!
